Clarinex Use

Clarinex is an antihistamine that can effectively help relieve sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, and other unpleasant allergy symptoms.

How Clarinex works

During an allergic reaction, your body releases a chemical called histamine. Histamines are responsible for causing all of the unwanted allergy symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, and itchy watery eyes. Clarinex works to relieve these symptoms by blocking the action of histamine in your body. It does this without causing any drowsiness.

How to take Clarinex

You can take Clarinex year round for seasonal allergy relief. The normal recommended dose is one 5 mg tablet once a day with or without food. For best results, take Clarinex at the same time each day preferably in the morning.

Clarinex precautions

Use caution when driving or operating heavy machinery. If you experience any of the following side effects, stop taking Clarinex and get medical help: allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, fast or irregular heart beat, closing of your throat, hives, swelling of your lips, tongue, or face.

What to tell your doctor

The safety and effectiveness of Clarinex with pregnant or nursing women has not yet been determined. Therefore, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding talk to your doctor about the risks involved with taking Clarinex. Before taking Clarinex tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to an antihistamine. If you have kidney disease or liver disease you may not be approved to take Clarinex.

Clarinex side effects

In clinical studies side effects of Clarinex were similar to a sugar pill. They include sore throat, dry mouth, and fatigue.
